Q&A

As our Manheim Central Field Hockey program continues to grow, we want to provide some insight into the most commonly asked questions about our program.

  • How do I join the MC Field Hockey team?

To join the Manheim Central Field Hockey team, students need to attend tryouts held before the season starts. Information on tryout dates and requirements will be posted on our website and announced at school.

  • What are the benefits of joining the team?

Joining the Manheim Central Field Hockey team offers numerous benefits, including skill development, competitive play, physical fitness, teamwork, and community involvement. Players also have the chance to form lasting friendships and create memorable experiences.

  • What equipment do I need to participate?

Players are required to have a field hockey stick, shin guards, a mouthguard, and appropriate footwear (turf shoes for outdoor play). Goalkeepers need additional protective gear, which the school may provide. The High School Team is also asking players to utilize a left handed during play.

  • When are the practice sessions and games?

Practice sessions are typically held after school during the week. The exact schedule will be provided at the start of the season. Games are scheduled throughout the week and occasionally on weekends.

  • Are there opportunities for offseason training?

Yes, we offer offseason training opportunities, including indoor sessions, summer training, and participation in local play. Information on these opportunities will be shared via our website and during team meetings.

Middle School provides a weekly indoor winter program at MBIC and twice-a-week training opportunities in the summer.

High School also provides weekly indoor training at MBIC.  During the summer, high school players also have the opportunity to attend conditioning, skills, lifting, and Nook games.

  • How can players earn funds for their accounts?

Players can earn funds for their accounts through volunteering opportunities. These funds can be used for events that advance their hockey skills, such as indoor sessions, tournaments, and summer camps. Submit the reimbursement form available on our website.

  • How can parents get involved?

Parents can get involved by joining the booster club, volunteering at events, or supporting the team through fundraising activities. We value and appreciate the support and involvement of our players’ families.

  • Who can I contact for more information?

For more information, please reach out to the coaching staff or the booster club. Contact details are available on our website’s contact page.

Feel free to contact us with any other questions or for further assistance. We are here to support our players and their families throughout the season.
